Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, both well-known Bitcoin bulls and founders of the crypto exchange Gemini, say they are open to partnering with arch-rival Mark Zuckerberg on Libra.

CNN Business reported on August 19 that the infamous and protracted agreement between the twin brothers and Zuckerberg should not prevent possible collaboration.

Cameron told CNN that Libra — regardless of whether or not it’s a partnership — is a step toward mass adoption for cryptocurrencies. He emphasized:

“I think there is a day in the future where we can’t live without crypto, or imagine a world before crypto.”

CNN said that proactively promoting twins’ cryptoregulation could make them an attractive partner for Facebook. For worldwide, Facebook’s Libra project has already raised concerns among governments and regulators.

The twins announced that they had been talking about joining the Libra Association. The Libra Association is a newly formed, independent governance consortium for the proposed Facebook token — which currently has 28 founding members. This number is to be extended to 100 by the start of Libra.

However, Tyler and Cameron stated that they need to find out more details about the project before deciding whether or not to join the association. Also, the question of whether they want to note Libra on the Gemini should be clarified in this context.

The Libra Association did not want to comment on ongoing negotiations with partners.
