Juventus Italian football club has launched its own cryptocurrency token, which will help its fan base (exceeding 400 million people) realize its voice, The Block writes.

The $JUV token was launched in collaboration with Socios.com, a blockchain startup, and will be sold through its own application. Token holders will be able to vote for certain decisions within the club and receive rewards.

“99.9% of sports fans are not in the city/country of the team they are supporting. We created these fungible fans tokens to allow fans to have an influence over some fan-based initiatives,” said Alexandre Dreyfus, CEO of Socios.com.

So, fans are invited to vote on which track should replace Chelsea Dagger, which is currently being played every time Juventus scores a goal at Alliance Stadium. Blink 182 — All The Small Things; Blur — Song 2; House of Pain — Jump Around; POD — Boom.

“We are proud to be the first Club to be activated by Socios.com on its platform, inaugurating a new way to interact with our fans around the world,” said Giorgio Ricci, chief revenue officer of Juventus.

In the future, Socios intends to continue tokenizing football clubs and has already concluded six deals for the first quarter of 2020 with teams such as Paris Saint-Germain, Atlético Madrid, West Ham United, Galatasaray and Roma.

In addition, in the first quarter, Juventus and PSG tokens will be available for exchange for Socios CHZ token. CHZ is currently trading on the Binance exchange for $0.011.
