Gavin Andresen, the leading maintainer of the Bitcoin software, claims that over the past two years, the most interesting developments in the cryptocurrency ecosystem have been carried out on the Ethereum blockchain.

As examples, Andresen pointed to the CryptoKitties and PoolTogether games launched in 2018 and 2019, respectively.

“I dunno what I will find interesting in 2020, but it will probably be built on Ethereum,” he wrote.

In May 2016, Andresen was denied access to updating the Bitcoin Core repository on GitHub after he publicly announced that Craig Wright is Satoshi Nakamoto. In November 2017, the developer publicly spoke out in support of Bitcoin Cash, explaining that this is exactly the Bitcoin he started working on in 2010.

Andresen’s message caused widespread discontent among BTC supporters, and prominent activist Udi Wertheimer, on the basis of his preferences, suggested that he should also pay attention to TRON. Later on, TRON founder Justin Sun replied, claiming that his platform is currently leading the development of decentralized applications.
