This article provides some information expressing why Ignotus Peverell, founder of Grin, might be Satoshi Nakamoto.

Ignotus Peverell

The Resemblance of Personal Traits

Ignotus Peverell, the pioneer of the Grin coin project, is the pseudonym of the person who uncovered it, wrote the code and set up the Grin forum to contribute to its development, expecting no form of payment, and keeping his identity secret from its inception.

When we take a look at these unusual features, we can detect some similarities to Satoshi Nakamoto, who created Bitcoin about 10 years ago.

Satoshi Nakamoto, as the pioneer of Bitcoin, is the person who uncovered it, wrote the code and set up the bitcoin talk forum to contribute to its development, expecting no form of payment. He also makes use of a pseudonym to keep his identity secret from the beginning.

The fact that personal qualities were so similar, since the first day of Grin’s appearance, incited the rumors that Ignotus Peverell used a second pseudonym and that he might, in fact, be Satoshi Nakamoto. When we look at these similarities, we see the possibility of this being true and we proceed by stating that the similarities are not limited those stated.

After revealing Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto made a radical decision, stating that the project was in good hands and quit the project. Ignotus Peverell made a similar statement, and like Satoshi Nakamoto, he sent a letter to other developers, stating that the project was in safe hands before leaving.

After making a statement similar to Satoshi Nakamoto’s, he thoroughly fueled the possibility, in terms of similitudes in personal qualities, that Ignotus Peverell might be Satoshi Nakamoto.

Name Similarity

When this possibility was exacerbated, the person who thought about it suddenly discovered something and announced it on twitter.

Ignotus Peverell’s name had the exact number of characters as Satoshi Nakamoto’s name, first and last respectively and when he reversed the name of Ignotus twice, it revealed a name resembling Satoshi.

Ignotus=Satoshi (7 letter)

Peverell= Nakamoto (8 letter)

Connection of Name Meanings

In Japanese, the name Satoshi means fast and intelligent thinker. It is quite obvious that someone who initiated a revolution like Bitcoin should have a very good nickname.

When we research Ignotus Peverell’s name, we see that it is a character’s name in the Harry Potter series. This character is the youngest child of a family with three children. The distinctive personal characteristic of this youngest child; he is the wisest and most humble of the three brothers. Although the meaning that emerges here is quite similar, in sense, to the name Satoshi. The fact that Satoshi is equally very humble makes an extra contribution to this similarity.

Ignotus Peverell is also the only person in the Harry Potter series to find the cloak of invisibility. Satoshi Nakamoto said in his published Bitcoin whitepaper that he was very cautious about secrecy and that decentralized crypto money should be private, which is why he designed Bitcoin in privacy. Although Satoshi Nakamoto tried to make it with “random” wallet addresses at that time, it was observed that this method became obsolete over time because artificial intelligence bots can find the owners of “random” wallet addresses, register them in their memory and report them whenever they make money transfers. In addition, your wallet address makes visible to the public, the amount of money in your wallet account. Click on the link below to see how it is done.

However, the unique http wallet addresses are the Grin coin and the change of these http addresses every time the wallet is started from the beginning, can fully ensure the privacy of the Grin coin and the artificial intelligence bots are completely excluded from the game. Ignotus Peverell gives meaning to his name, finding the invisibility cloak in the Harry Potter series, as well as providing invisibility to users of the Grin coin. And again, in this regard, just like Satoshi Nakamoto, we see that he(Ignotus) attaches great importance to privacy.

When we interpret the connection between the meanings of these names, we see that both of them have similar meanings in the background and have the same goals.

Similarity in Software Codes

When Bitcoin’s open-source code came into being, the codes that enabled the network to function and protect it consisted of very elegant and cleverly designed mathematical formulas. If it hadn’t been so, a structure that would provide its security on its own would not have worked for more than 10 years without anyone’s intervention, without disruption. Developers of that period, therefore, admired Bitcoin’s source codes. Cypherpunk community would also have been influenced by Bitcoin since they became one of Bitcoin’s greatest supporters at the time.

We can say that Grin had the same effect on this topic. The math in Grin coin’s open-source code is very elegant, cleverly designed and also elliptic curve methods are used which have not been frequently used before but have reached perfection with Grin coins. For this reason, we can state that well-known developers and the cypherpunk community have been affected by Grin coins as much as during the Bitcoin era.

Let’s see examples of this effect from popular cryptocurrency developers at first.

Charlie Lee — Litecoin

1. Known as the creator of Litecoin, Charlie Lee explained the Mimblewimble topic on Magical Crypto Friends and emphasized that the way Mimblewimble technology has hidden the system is interesting and that introduces the opportunity to grow cryptocurrencies more than Bitcoin.

2. I think Mimblewimble technology is extremely successful. When I first learned about this, it made me think; that can provide privacy and scaling easily. I am curious to see how far this technology will go.

Riccardo Spagni — Monero

1. Take a look at how Grin coin is designed economically. It is definitely designed as a currency. So inflation is part of the design and it forces you to spend money. In fact, the basic perspectives are to create hype as the main, extracting a cryptocurrency built on a different system of this genre. In this way, they want to ensure that ordinary investors get it sooner or later.

After a while, the two different crypto coin developers decided to add the Mimblewimble protocol, which Grin had in their network, to theirs. Litecoin started work on the next hardfork to move to the Mimblewimble protocol, and Monero decided to add Mimblewimble through a side chain on the Monero.

Now, let’s proceed with cypherpunks.

When Bitcoin first came out, it received tremendous support from the cypherpunk community. Now we see that Grin got the same support from Jameson Lopp, a popular and pure cypherpunk, about 10 years later.

Jameson Lopp made this support by following the path of Hal Finney, who first announced Bitcoin on twitter and he tweeted “Running Grin”.

Those affected by Grin are not limited to these people. One of the first bitcoin miners, who had known the market for at least 9 years, gave a 50-bitcoin donation (approximately $ 550,000) to Grin’s developers. Link is below.

Finally, let’s talk about the effect Grin had on Alexey Miroshkin, who joined Grin later as a voluntary developer and holds a master’s degree in Mathematics and a Ph.D. in Computer Science.

This is how he describes Grin.

In summary, we can say that Grin’s software codes have the same effect as when Bitcoin was first released. Also, when we think of who wrote these elegant and pure math codes, it reminds us of a name. Satoshi Nakamoto!

End

We have seen that Ignotus Peverell and Satoshi Nakamoto are almost identical to each other, and as a result, one can truly believe that he is Satoshi Nakamoto but we want to say something radical. It doesn’t matter if Ignotus is Satoshi or not.

This is because Ignotus Peverell has achieved the same vision as Satoshi Nakamoto, showed his intelligence to be equivalent and carried the secrecy on coins he wanted to create to the very end. Does it really matter if he’s Satoshi Nakamoto after this?

As we come to the end of this article, we add two lines from a song that identifies with Ignotus Peverell and Satoshi Nakamoto.

O na kar maan rupaiye wala — Dont earn Money.

O na kar maan rpaiye wala baar baar ke na raije — Dont value money.
