Hey, it’s been a while here. I have missed writing, had to take some time off to gain clarity but I am back now and would be writing articles as I used to. This article is meant to help put some shape into your 2021 and help with some sort of direction for the new year.

2020 has been the most epic year ever in history. The kind of gbas gbos (turbulence) that was faced this year can not be compared to any other year before now, It is a year to remember. But then, I’m not here to tell you how unfavourable this year has been but to instead share a bucket-list of things I feel would be useful for a better 2021.

This is a list of things I would also be doing personally and I know it would be useful to you too, so that 2021 won’t shock us as 2020 did. Oh well, let’s jump right in…

  1. Make a commitment to serve God: This one is the most important decision you can make towards the new year because every other thing you would do is hinged on this one thing. You have to decide once and for all that you would serve this God with everything, and not haphazardly. In 2021 you would see the reason why being closely knitted to God is important.
  2. Plan every aspect of your life: Now, it is no news that a lot of people are going to enter the new year without any plan at all, and I don’t mean having a new years’ resolution, I mean sit down and take a pen and a fresh journal and plan out with realistic goals, how 2021 should go for you. From your career to family, to academics, every aspect of your life should be planned out. — Luke 14:28–30. But remember to lean on the Holy Spirit while planning. — Proverbs 16:9
  3. Get an anchor scripture for 2021: The way 2020 had a lot of gbas gbos (turbulence), 2021 too would have it’s own. An anchor scripture is one that keeps you standing tall on the water when the waves come. It is not any scripture you just pick, it is a scripture that is put in your heart by the Holy Spirit because He is the one that knows what you would face in the coming days. This scripture is one that is specific to you and you have to pray to get it. It could be more than one.
  4. Create a Bible study plan/routine: This one is very necessary, I use Youversion. You can get plans on the app to help you become consistent with studying the word, and I don't mean devotionals, I mean actual scriptures. Here are some you can start with, The One Year ® Bible, Bible in 90 Days, First Steps Reading Plan. You would need the word to stand in 2021 trust me.
  5. Get an accountability partner: Now, this one is not just gonna be anyone, it is going to be someone that the Holy Spirit would place on your heart to help you stay on track through the year 2021. No one has ever done great stuff or attained any height all by him/herself, you need people, valuable people. It could be one person or a group of people, bottom line is that you shouldn't walk in isolation in the coming year.

What I sense about the coming year…

One of the things I sense about the coming year is the intense need for personal altars. There is a yearning for people to know God personally beyond what you think you’ve known over the years or what you’ve heard about Him. There is a need for a close, uninterrupted relationship with the Father, He is calling us deeper.

2021 is the year you want to take your walk with God very seriously. It should not be business as usual, eliminate mediocrity from your faith walk and take it seriously. God is requiring a deeper level of consencration from His people.

The storms would not end in 2020, 2021 would have its own. There is no guarantee that 2021 would be any better, it is wise to stay close to Him who can save your soul. A lot is going to happen next year, the only person who can help you navigate the storms is calling you into a deeper level of relationship with Him. The waves will come, the question is, would you be found wanting?

You want to take the remaining 2 days in this year to seek the face of God in prayer and studying of the word for what He would require of you come 2021 because in the end, it’s a personal race and we are all going to give individual accounts of our lives. — Romans 14:12.

In Closing…

It’s good to plan but don’t do it outside God, pray as you are getting ready to enter the new year and let God be the ultimate. Plans may fail or be disrupted but God can’t and that is why you should make Him the ultimate.

Yea, there is a song I’ve been jamming to lately. No, it’s not KPK lol… it’s “logo by Gaise Baba”, it’s such an amazing song. Get the EP here, Logo EP.

Thank you so much for reading this article, please do pass it on to someone so they can have some sort of direction for their 2021. See you soon!
