One of our main concerns regarding the continual use of fossil fuel is the emissions that come out of the break down of these fuels. The carbon that is pushed into out atmospheres acts as a blanket for the earth keeping heat trapped under it like a winter jacket. This in turns leaves the planet constantly getting warmer. Due to this the polar ice caps are beginning to melt ultimately causing a rise in the ocean level. If we, as humans were to cut down or even eliminate the use of fossil fuels we would in turn limit the amount of pollution we contribute to our atmosphere.
