Hello and welcome to The Solidarity Project!

We are updating the number of working groups for Solidarity with the addition of a Sustainability Working Group.

We are also adding an additional focus for the Governance Working group.

Sustainability Working Group

The Sustainability Working Group will cover the social and environmental impact of blockchain governance and digital disintermediation platforms (“digital governance”). For example, the environmental impact of choosing between a Proof-of-Work (PoW) mining algorithm and a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) mining algorithm.

We wanted to add a Sustainability Working Group because digital governance, even though mostly occuring over the internet, has a social and environmental impact on the communities where members of the group live.

Governance Working Group

The Governance Working Group will also cover dispute resolution for off-chain and on-chain activities.

About The Solidarity Project

The Solidarity Project is a blockchain governance project tackling the (non)obvious issues in blockchain governance and digital disintermediation models.

The Solidarity Project was created to discuss, debate, and solve current and future issues in blockchain governance (e.g., who should have control over technical updates to the blockchain software?) and digital disintermediation models (e.g., Should we decentralize? And if so, what kind of decentralization? Federated? Distributed?)

Solidarity intends to focus on tackling major issues in blockchain governance and digital disintermediation models by:

  • Hosting a Societal Convention to create a Social Charter and Decentralized Initiative (“Organizing Documents”);
  • Creating the infrastructure for a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO);
  • Combining the DAO with the Organizing Documents to create what we term, a Network Society; and
  • Evaluate whether the Network Society is meeting the goals and aspirations discussed at the Societal Convention.

About Ledgerback

We are a cooperative, molded in the open collaborative network model, that focuses on peer-to-peer research, analytics and development for digital disintermediation and innovation (D2I).

Anyone who is passionate about emerging technologies, decentralization, blockchain, cryptocurrencies, alternative economic and governance models is encouraged to join us as we continue to discover the unknown in this digital frontier.

As a member (a/k/a Backer), you will have an equal say and interest in the affairs of Ledgerback, and the ability to choose the direction of it’s growth.
