During this pandemic, or even before, it is probable that you have created a daily routine to organize yourself and try to stop procrastinating.

Waking up early, do exercise, have breakfast, and then spend the rest of your day in front of a screen either for work, school, or just scrolling through social media. Over time — usually, just after a couple of weeks — you start to feel extremely bored with the monotonous life you have and want to break free.

Therefore, to escape from this repetitive cycle at least just for a while, swap your boring content online with some entertaining and engaging one. This will help you to charge batteries, have more energy, and even perhaps learn something new.

So here are ten websites when you are bored!!!

1. WornOnTV — Dress Like Your Favorite TV Stars

If you have ever watched a series and fallen in love with the elegant, lavish clothes of one of the characters — but didn’t have any idea where can you buy them — WornonTV is the perfect site for you. From Dynasty and Gossip Girl to Stranger Things and Riverdale, on this website, you can find whatever piece of clothing you want.

Just type the name of the series or character and start scrolling, you can even get an entire outfit.

2. Gnoosic — Discover New Music

Tired of hearing the same song over and over?

There are millions of musicians and bands out there, it is just difficult to find another that suits your musical preferences. For that reason, Gnoosic is here to find your new favorite band. It is a “self-adapting system” that will ask you to type in three bands you already like and predicts the music you might like — if you did not like the option, Gnoosic will show you another band.

3. Radio Garden — Listen To Music From All Over The World

Radio Garden Website

For the ones who have forgotten the radio, this place is for you. Here you can discover the music that is been played in Paris, Istanbul, Lima the list is almost infinite.

You can look for the radio stations (the green dots in the globe) of a certain country, type the name of a station, a city, music genre… the choice is yours.

4. OCEARCH — Keep Track Of Our Ocean’s Giants

OCEARCH provides you with information about where on the planet a species tagged is at that very moment. It is a non-profit organization that collects data for scientific research focused on the conservation of marine biodiversity in order to return the balance and abundance of the ocean.

They have tagged over 400 animals since 2007 such a Amy (White Shark), Junonia (Loggerhead Sea Turtle), Lexi (Tiger Shark), etc.

5. TypeLit — Practice Typing, Read Literature

Do you still type with two fingers?

The process of typing with all your fingers is tedious and dull. But can you imagine doing this while also typing your favorite books? TypeLit is a website where you can search for a classic novel and improve your typing.

It can be from any language you want, saves your progress and you can choose from a wide range of literature — I personally have enhanced my typing speed with the dystopian novel 1984.

6. Museum of Endangered Sounds — Discover New(Old) Sounds

Museum of Endangered Sounds

when the entire world has adopted devices with sleek, silent touch interfaces, where will we turn for the sound of fingers striking QWERTY keypads? Tell me that. And tell me: Who will play my GameBoy when I’m gone?”

This online page was launched as a way to preserve the sounds of old machines so that we can remember them and revive memories from the past. The sound of a typewriter, Nokia ringtone, Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and more you can find here.

7. Touch Pianist — Be A Professional Pianist

Touch Pianist

We all are artistic, musical, and creative. However, many do not have a chance to explore this side of themselves because of the many things that you encounter in life. If you have dreamed of playing like Beethoven or Mozart, your opportunity is here.

Touch Pianist gives you the experience of performing beautiful musical pieces using nothing more than your computer. Type in your keyboard or tap your screen, and you will be playing the piano like the great masters.

8. ZenPen — Write Without Distractions

A minimalist writing zone, where you can block out all distractions and get to what’s important. The writing!”

As it is shown above, ZenPen allows you to write free of distractions, just you and your screen. It is the perfect environment for getting your article or story done — I am using it for this post. Simple, easy to use, and dynamic.

9. Little Alchemy — Create From Fire To Unicorns

Photo by Elena Mozhvilo on Unsplash

Little Alchemy is a game based on mixing elements to create new ones — and doing this again to produce others. To be honest, it can get a bit addictive but is an effective way to get your mind off things.

Let your imagination run wild here!

10. Cat Bounce — What more do you need to know?

Cat Bounce

You can read about this website and get everything you need to know.

“Cat Bounce is an interactive website of bouncing cats. Using Javascript and simulated 2d physics, the effects of friction, gravity, and velocity are determined according to user interaction with cats. In other words, more force = more bounce.”

Cats are one of the cutest animals in the world — this is a fact — so this site will keep you gripped for a while. The premise is simple: click the link, watch some cats bounce, and MAKE IT RAIN.
