Jon And Dave’s Star Wars
Together, Favreau and Filoni can make amazing Star Wars shows as long as they don’t write them.
Recently, I finished watching Star Wars: The Bad Batch and confirmed my suspicion that Dave Filoni’s Star Wars shows are better than Jon Favreau’s.
Back in 2018, when my then-baby took her naps, I binge-watched Star Wars: The Clone Wars. With Disney’s underwhelming movie The Last Jedi, I needed the old Star Wars sense of adventure back in my life, and The Clone Wars series delivered.
George Lucas offered Star Wars fan Dave Filoni the job of creating one of the best-rated Star Wars shows. Like a Jedi Master and his Padawan, the two worked closely together to bring a vision to life.
A New Era
During Disney’s early reign over Star Wars content, fans criticized many decisions by the company. Though most of the sequels performed adequately, many viewers and old-time fans did not find the characters and recycled story memorable — no matter how hard Disney pushes the relevance of the sequel movies through merchandise and theme park rides.
