2018 has been great! This was a landmark year as we completed 5 years in last October. And our 5th Anniversary trek to Changabang Base Camp did consist our largest trekking group, ever! But we never take pride in numbers, Do we?

Our year looked something like this:

March : Sandakphu.

April : Varsey, Sandakphu-Chintaphu.

May : Mandani Valley Trek.

June : Hampta Pass.

July : Valley of Flowers.

August : Bhaba Pass.

September : Dayara Bugyal.

October : Bagini Glacier and Changabang Base Camp Trek.

November : Goecha La.

Did everything went as planned? Not really.

Our Bhaba Pass trek didn’t start on the day it was supposed to, as heavy rains made us wait for a whole day at Kafnu. We started on the next morning and completed the normally 5-day trek in 4 days amidst breathtaking weather. Kedartal was our next scheduled departure, in the 4th week of September. Now end of September is generally a safe time for travels in Garhwal, right?

We reached Gangotri around 2 pm in the afternoon under clear skies. Mt. Sudarshan greeted us and made us excited for the days ahead. But mother nature really had other plans. It started raining from 6 in the evening and it didn’t stop for the next 60 odd hours. We had to cancel our plans for Kedartal and descended back to Uttarkashi. After the clouds made way for clear skies, we made a quick dash to Dayara meadows for a short but sweet hike.

We also had our first scheduled Road Trip, a trip to the Old Silk Route in Sikkim, last month. We had jaw-dropping views of Kanchenjunga. We do have plans for a few scheduled Road Trips in 2019 too!

The greatest memory of last 12 months have been really sharing the hardships with our fellow friends, through sunrises and sunsets, snowstorms and rainy days, snow slopes and scree zones.

Our adventures have been full of fun with safety as our first priority. We always emphasised on being humble and being good to one another in the harsh conditions, and in most occasions, the mountain rewarded us with breathtaking views.

Thank You, 2018.

Happy New Year! Don’t forget your Breakfast!
