Consensus in Hyperledger Fabric: Migrating from Kafka to Raft
In early Hyperledger Fabric versions, it was only possible to employ a Kafka-based consensus mechanism. Starting with version v1.4.2, users can migrate to a Raft-based one, which provides a distributed fault-tolerant service, easier to set up and maintain. This tutorial explains the migration process step by step: how to launch a blockchain network, determine the number of channels to modify, and enable the maintenance mode. The instructions also share recommendations on configuring the Raft ordering service and testing chaincode invocation.
