Sarah Szopa — All About the A

In this office, it’s pretty easy to get to know the people working around you. Between quick bump-intos at the coffee machine and the occasional libation at the end of a week, we sometimes take for granted just how connected we can all be here at Altos. But with the addition of a new member to the team, it’s nice to take some time and get to know a little bit more about who we’ll be rubbing elbows with.

That’s why we’re happy to welcome our newest team member and Account Manager, Sarah Szopa, to the Altos family. We sat down with Sarah for another edition of All About the A, where she had a lot to say about her love of unconventional pizza toppings and her plans to be a practical millionaire.

Welcome Sarah! We here at Altos like to think of ourselves a little bit like a box of crayons, with each person adding their own color to the rainbow. Now that you’re here — which color are you?

I’d say yellow — like a spunky, bright, stand-out yellow. Just something super friendly; I picture the rising sun or just a big star. The kind of yellow that makes people go like, “Oh, Sarah.”

Say you walked out the door this afternoon and found a $10 million winning lottery ticket, yours free and clear. What would you do?

Oh man, it’s lame to say but I think I’d be super practical. I’d probably be super frugal, and organize everything in a big spreadsheet. I’d definitely factor in giving and buying gifts for my family, helping out and assisting as need be. I’d probably buy a super economical car as well. I think I’d feel most comfortable just knowing it’s in the bank.

Let’s talk about growing up — what was your dream job as a kid?

Naming nail polish. Honestly, it was always a dream of mine — something I think I’d be great at.

Pizza toppings — the all important question. Favorites?

Chicken and broccoli. Controversial, I know, but there’s nothing that beats that tasty broccoli on a delicious pizza.

Have a favorite TV show?

Two actually — Intervention, and South Park. I love Intervention because it’s just reliably entertaining, while South Park is so witty and hilarious. Those two are definitely my go-to shows.

Ok, big question with the holidays coming up: hot cocoa or eggnog?

Eggnog — spiked, of course.

Thanks Sarah! We’re excited to have you on the team going into 2017 — as intriguing as your pizza choices may be. Stay tuned to learn more about all the key players here on team Altos!
