Reasons Why You Should Attend the AWS Summit London 2019

We’re less than one week away from this year’s AWS Summit in London on May 8! And in case you are undecided about whether to attend, I’d like to highlight some of the events we’re most excited about.

Keynote

One of the highlights of the Summit will be the keynote address given by Matt Garman, Vice President, Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), AWS. Past keynotes covered the latest trends in cloud computing and newly released AWS products and solutions. We’re looking forward to hearing from Matt Garman on the the new and exciting developments in this area, and what to watch out for in the second half of 2019 and beyond.

Sessions

There will be over 60+ learning sessions held during the Summit to share cloud best practices and customer success stories. These sessions will provide the opportunity to learn directly from users and designers of the AWS platform how to successfully drive cloud adoption in the enterprise. Although we’d like to hear them all, three sessions in particular caught our attention:

CI/CD on AWS

How can you accelerate the delivery of new, high-quality services? How can you be able to experiment and get feedback quickly from your customers? To get the most out of the agility afforded by serverless and containers, it is essential to build CI/CD pipelines that help teams iterate on code and quickly release features. Learn how developers can build effective CI/CD release workflows to manage their serverless or containerized deployments on AWS. How to set up CI/CD release pipelines with AWS CodePipeline and AWS CodeBuild, and automate safer deployments with AWS CodeDeploy.

Using AIOps to reduce incident volumes

Customers migrating workloads to AWS have a variety of tools to monitor their infrastructure, generating large volumes of alarms from services such as Amazon CloudWatch, AWS Config, and other third party tools. Without careful curation, events and tickets can exponentially multiply and overwhelm ITSM systems and the teams operating them, obscuring real problems and wasting time. Using advanced Machine Learning techniques, customers can reduce noise from these events and tickets and increase their service quality.

Best practices for migrating workloads to AWS

As customers put more workloads into AWS, they need to manage more virtual private clouds (VPCs). Scaling out an AWS environment can create challenges in manageability, workload segmentation, and security. SD-WAN solutions offered by AWS partners can enable organizations to scale up the number of VPCs as needed while segmenting and isolating workloads for easier management, application quality monitoring, and security.

Aside from the above, there are a number of other topics of interest, including: Are you Well Architected?, Building AR/VR applications on AWS, Amazon EC2 foundations and cost optimisation and much more!

Last but not least, be sure to stop by stand B20 in the Summit Expo. Our team of AWS-certified DevOps and cloud experts will be there to share the stories behind a number of recent high-impact customer engagements, and answer any questions you might have.
