The mission of our May nonprofit, Books for Africa, is a simple one — ship and distribute books to classrooms in Africa. They have shipped more than 30 million books to 49 different countries since 1988 and are working to end the book famine in Africa.
Through our work with them, we raised just over $50, which means we were able to ship 108 books to Africa — that’s enough books to sponsor a classroom library and promote a culture of reading for students who may have otherwise not had the resources.
As our community of 70 members continues to grow, our impact will only become more profound. We will continue to bring you stories of how we are making real change in the world and the impact your dollar has on the nonprofits we support.
