working to end poverty

Mentors International, our July nonprofit, is working to end poverty through micro-loans and business mentoring. They work with small business owners in developing countries, teaching the skills necessary to help their business grow and survive.

Mentors International serves over 60,000 clients each fiscal year in Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Peru and the Philippines. Since they were founded 25 years ago, they have helped over 3.3 million individuals.

And this month, the Altruist community added one more to that count. Through our work with them, we raised nearly $80, which will be enough to provide a small micro-loan to a new client and about 25 group training sessions on topics such as inventory control, sales tactics, accounting, debt and financial management.

As our community of 89 members continues to grow, our impact will only become more profound. We will continue to bring you stories of how we are making real change in the world and the impact your dollar has on the nonprofits we support.

If you’re as inspired as we are, consider becoming an Altruist. Learn more about our community & how we’re changing the world, $1 at a time at joinAltruist.com.
