The Coming Year
My Goodreads Reading Challenge for this year is to read 60 books. Last year I only got through 33 books, mainly because reading didn’t feel fun. I prefered binge-watching TV-series, coloring (I feel like an idiot everytime I admit that I love adult coloring books) and writing on my other blog. But now I want to make time to read more again.
There’s a mountain of books that I want to read, but I want to focus on these:
- the Quran. It’s probably the most boring and badly written book in the world, but I want to read it just to be able to answer yes when anybody asks if I’ve read it during a debate about Islam.
- finish the Gulag archepelago. It’s such a great work of literature, but it makes me so sad that anybody had to go through this. Then I get angry because there are people out there who actually defend the Soviet.
- Blackout by Connie Willis
- the Foundation series by Isaac Asimov
- First among sequels by Jasper Fforde
I have also planned to take up journaling again as it’s such a great way to clear ones mind and work things out. And it also gives me a reason to buy cute notebooks.
