Put That On Your Playlist: Camp Fire Intro

Song: Camp Fire Intro

Album: Big Boi and Dre Present…OutKast

Honourable mention: Intro (Stankonia)

— — —

OutKast albums have a way of easing you in and this Camp Fire Intro, from the band’s greatest hits album, accomplishes precisely that as Big Boi and Andre 3000 (as Uncle Jesse and Lil’ Shpitty) narrate the group’s history and legacy up to this point — or they’re supposed to before the skit gets sidetracked when the two characters lose focus and get lost on a panoply of issues. First, Lil’ Shpitty corrects the grammar of his uncle, then someone farts, both laugh, and any semblance of structure falls by the wayside from there.

Overall it’s a funny intro that works to introduce the humour, style and charisma of the pair. You could do worse than this table-setting intro. (You could probably do better too. Whatever.)
