Moros FC
If you have been a mainstay with the podcast you will know already that Moros FC is a team we don’t know much about. From their United Premier Soccer League announcement, it was stated that they were based in Raleigh, but going into the 2020 season they were slated to play away games for the first quarter of matches. From our research, we have linked them fields in Apex, so I decided to have them play there for this project.
The fall 2020 season is set to kick off and we now know that Moros FC will actually be playing at the Wake Competition Center in Morrisville.
I wanted to move away from the traditional shield they use in their current logo, but I liked the spartan helmet. For the rebrand I used a side-profile helmet in a circular logo. I have used a circle as the base for several logos in this project and wanted this one to stand out against the normal text above-below format. I simplified the text down to just MOROS and added it along the path of the white borders. I brightened the red since the color contrast is doing the majority of the work in the design.
Apex is home to several soccer fields, but Hunter Street Park stood out to me. It is nestled neatly between businesses, homes, a skatepark, and even a baseball field, all just north of downtown. It does unfortunately have an artificial turf playing surface, but I think the location and infrastructure make up for it.
The kit mockup is a simple Adidas red and white combination from the logo featuring a diagonal sash.
