I had trouble with Roxboro for awhile before settling on a few key design elements:
· Agriculture
· Earth tones
· Unique, but simple
Using those three keys as my guiding light I landed on a curved triangle shape as the container. Usually I lean towards sharp points so the curves should help it stick out when lined up with the rest of the project. I went with cotton as the agricultural focal point. Tobacco might be king, but using it makes marketing hard. The bulb of cotton also adds a splash of white that really sold me on using it over another plant. Lastly I dared the brown pallet again to keep in line with the earth tones. When paired with the off-black it gives the crest a cool look that wouldn’t be the same with flat black.

Huck Sansbury Recreation Complex

There are not a lot of options for fields in Roxboro. The best solution I could find is the Huck Sansbury Recreation Complex. It has enough space and could retrofit the baseball diamond into a soccer specific stadium.

One thing I knew I needed to avoid with this kit mockup was using the brown as the main color. Instead, I used the off-black with a sublimated black pattern on the shirt and shorts. Brown sleeves and collar and a white strip wraps up this design.

Special thanks to Russell Varner for his help editing.

About me
First and foremost I am an amateur with no formal training. My hope is that this series will spark other creatives to make their own versions. Learn more about the series here. I was born and raised in Middlesex, North Carolina and have spent most of my adult life living in Raleigh. I am a fan of the beautiful game who wants to see it grow at the grassroots level.
