Ever since I was a child, people said my family was cursed. Mom tried to protect us with God. Dad tried to protect us with wrestling. He said if we were the toughest, the strongest, nothing could ever hurt us. I believed him. We all did.

The Iron Claw (2023) is a biopic about the Von Erich family, one of the greatest dynasties in wrestling.

The film prologue opens in black and white, immediately highlighting the cathartic element that permeates the entire story: a wrestling ring.

This place where athletes compete without limits to entertain the public, but at the same time face the physical and psychological pressures of their environment.

Zac Efron put considerable effort into adapting to the role of a professional wrestler, calling it the most challenging of his career up to that point.

He had to shape his body, make it muscular and powerful, while simultaneously trying to express the deep pain and internal struggle of a young man raised in the image and likeness of a dominant father.

Despite the difficulty of the process, Kevin (Zac Efron) manages to emerge from his shadow and become a better parent than he ever had.

However, during this process of emancipation, he is unable to protect even one of his three younger…
