Since the 1960s of TN-LCD, it has been discovered that charging the liquid crystal will change its molecular arrangement, which in turn causes the distortion or refraction of light. After repeated tests, in 1968, the liquid crystal display device was invented in the United States, and then the LCD liquid crystal display was officially launched. However, since the birth of the first LCD display, in just 30 years, liquid crystal display technology has developed rapidly: in the early 1970s, Japan began to produce TN-LCD and promoted its application; in the early 1980s, TN-LCD Products are widely used in calculators; in 1984, after European and American countries proposed TFT-LCD and STN-LCD display technology, from the end of the 1980s, Japan has mastered the mass production technology of STN-LCD, enabling the LCD industry to gain improve dramatically.

In order to cooperate with the RTX3080 tall display, we chose a high-end gaming display of the Titan Legion T27UG. Under 4K image quality, the refresh rate can reach 144Hz. This is indeed a technological pinnacle, but after consumers buy it, they say that the refresh rate can only reach 120Hz when using it. What is going on? In response to this question that everyone is concerned about, this issue will give you a tutorial on the correct configuration of 4K144Hz.

The Titan Legion T27UG can be called the king of the price-performance ratio of 4K gaming monitors. The cheapest 4K 144Hz monitor can easily reach 4.5K. If you don’t believe me, you can try selecting 4K 144Hz according to the parameters on the e-commerce monitor sales page. Others Brands are half more expensive than the Titan Army T27UG easily.

As an e-sports version of the monitor, there is naturally some e-sports style in the accessories. The Titan Legion is equipped with a multi-purpose e-sports bracket in the T27UG accessory, a lightweight triangle base, original dual DP cables, a pair of black hoods, and an external power supply. Adapter, desktop LED projection lamp and a nice screwdriver.

At this stage, many monitors use the external power supply scheme, which is easy to replace and reduce the weight and thickness of the monitor. This design has the advantage.

A detachable desktop LOGO projection lamp is included. I think the benevolent sees differently! Of course, real-time display of game information or visual reminders will be more meaningful in the future.

This Titan Legion 27-inch gaming monitor is also equipped with a removable shading plate, which is only available in many flagship monitors. Of course, that T27UG is the flagship of the Titan Legion, that is beyond reproach. The hood is fixed on the two wings of the display by four screws. It is worth mentioning that a layer of light-absorbing velvet is attached to the inside of the hood, which can play a better role in shading. This design is more conscientious than a display that only provides a plastic hood. In addition, the angle of the hood is adjustable, so we can rotate it to the back when we are not using it.

It can be called an e-sports monitor, so the design of the base & bracket should account for 80% of the share. The base & bracket of T27UG is naturally no exception. The base is a common triangle base for e-sports. It is made of aluminum alloy, and there is no problem in toughness or weight. , The outer layer of the multi-purpose metal bracket rod is made of plastic material, and the inner layer is galvanized sheet, which will not rust after a long time.

After installation, let’s take a look at the appearance of this Titan Legion gaming monitor. The overall look is very handsome and simple, without any muddling. The whole machine adopts three-sided extremely narrow bezel, which greatly increases the screen-to-body ratio, and has a better sense of silence in use. Through the ingenious design of the multi-purpose bracket, T27UG is endowed with +15°-5° pitch ability, 15° left and right head turning ability, up and down 10 cm movement ability and 180° rotation ability!

The screen uses the most avant-garde IPS hard screen panel, with a response time of 1 millisecond. The response time refers to the response speed of the liquid crystal display to the input signal, that is, the time for the liquid crystal particles to turn from dark to bright or from bright to dark. There are two parts: “rising time” and “falling time”, and the response time usually refers to the sum of the two. 1ms is the quality that gaming monitors should have.

Take a look at the design on the back. The all-black shell and the matte surface feel good to the touch. In terms of interface, two HDMI ports, two DP ports, and a TYPE-C port are configured for users to fully respond to mainstream devices. Of course, some players like to set up dual screens or three screens, which is completely fine. In addition, it is equipped with a 3.5mm audio port for easy connection of headphones; on the far right is the DC power port.

On the left side of the back, there are 5 physical OSD buttons. Except for the power button at the bottom, the other four are used to adjust the display menu parameters. In the actual test, each option of the menu corresponds exactly to the position of each button on the back, and the operation is very smooth. If you remember correctly, the big names are also designed like this.

The back light effect of T27UG is a mouth-shaped red circle LED, which is not dazzling or RGB running effect. Isn’t red and black the melody of gaming?

The first thing to note is that the requirements for the graphics card must meet 4K resolution and 144Hz bandwidth. For the calculation method of bandwidth, please refer to our previous article [ES Art of War] Why is my monitor not on 144Hz? It turned out that the video interface caused the trouble, so that the monitor can run perfectly. The wider the bandwidth, the higher the allowable signal frequency and the smaller the signal distortion. The relevant values of the graphics card can be viewed at the Zhongguancun Hardware Forum.

Click the OSD button from the back of the right hand to call up the control panel of the monitor. Among other settings, there is a UHD 144 MODE. With this option, you can force the 144Hz mode on, and on the lower side is the AMD FreeSync anti-tear technology option. Turn it on, and the result…

It seems that dual DP line access is very mature for T27UG. Such half-screen flashing seems to be caused by technical conflicts. I recalled that it was probably caused by the AMD FreeSync tear-proof technology. Quickly and manually turn off AMD FreeSync anti-tearing technology, and finally everything is normal!

“The Four Seas. Final Edition” launched on 9.25. The Titan Legion T27UG monitor has a 27-inch IPS panel with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 and a refresh rate of 144Hz. We set the “Four Seas Brothers Final Edition” to 4K high quality. SLR camera records the game’s graphics throughout the entire journey. This monitor supports AMD’s Free-SYNC gaming tear-proof technology, is naturally compatible with the G-SYNC of the driver board, has DisplayHDR 400 certification, has a dimming area and 90% DCI-P3 color gamut and other necessary e-sports skills and tactics performance.

We all know that by aiming at a low-frequency light bulb with a mobile phone lens, we can see stroboscopic phenomenon. Working or studying under stroboscopic for a long time will greatly affect our eyesight. The screen refresh rate is the same. Under the mobile phone camera lens, the high refresh rate screen has less or almost no ripple, while the low refresh rate will produce more ripple. FPS games are likely to cause screen tearing when the viewing angle is moved quickly. Therefore, in our actual test, we quickly moved the mouse left and right. We found that the high refresh rate can effectively avoid tearing. In the game, the cooperation of T27UG and RTX3080 is a tacit understanding. , Depth of field, degree of delicacy, light effect… the performance is natural and transparent. It’s definitely a treat.

T27UG uses a 27-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 3840x2160 and a refresh rate of 144Hz, supporting 1ms response time, ensuring the smoothness of the game picture while taking into account the delicate picture display. At the same time, T27UG’s color display technology is also uncompromising. In addition to the professional light-shielding board that comes with the machine, it also has HDR cutting-edge color technology, and the color gamut covers 99% of sRGB; and it provides a variety of interface solutions such as HDMI and DP1.4 in a user-friendly manner, taking into account the gaming and Double needs for daily use.
