All Medium Writers Should Follow These Tips
Maximize Your Medium Impact: Essential Advice for Every Writer on the Platform
Of course, these are my suggestions. Some of you may choose differently.
Profile Page
I always check the writer’s profile page when I read an interesting article.

A profile page is made of Home / Books / Lists / About tabs
Your profile page is your golden opportunity to captivate and engage more readers. Optimize it now to attract a larger following and gain more subscribers.
Home Tab:
This includes all your medium articles. I always scroll down one or two pages at least. If you have attractive articles/headlines, your visitor can read, or save your article for her/his library for future reading.
Books Tab:
Many published authors are not aware of this function. You can become a verified medium Author and all your readers can see your book, and can trust you more as a published author.
And this is “free advertising” :) for your books!

You can check Jamie Northrup - Minimalist Hustler’s profile page to see a published book. If you published multiple books, you can select one book for the Home tab as a “Featured Book” to be seen by all who visit only your home tab.
List Tab:
You can create lists in your library to read in the future. Besides, your readers/followers can see your list if you don’t set it private. Also, if you save an article to a list, the writers of the article can see that you saved their articles. This can entice interaction between those writers and you.
Below is my library with two lists: “Reading List” and “Use”
About Tab:
Please include at least a minimum info about you, your adventure, and your niche.
Including Social Media info has the utmost importance here.
Medium settings also allow you to ad Twitter (X), Facebook and Mastodon.
(Settings / Security and Apps)
As you see, I added only Twitter (X) yet. But if you use Facebook and Mastodon this is the place to add to your profile.
Other than social media allowed by Medium, you can add whatever social media and links to About tab within text.
When I follow a medium writer, I also follow ALL the social media.
You can see at the bottom of the below picture where social media icons are placed:
This picture shows the bottom of the article. As you see green buttons, there are FOLLOW / Subscribe / Tipping options.
I highly advise enabling the tipping option.
(settings / publishing / Manage tipping on your stories)
As far as I see, the top tipping choices are PayPal, Ko-Fi, BuyMeACoffee, and ConvertKit.

I also always check the writer’s tipping options if there is more on their ko-fi and BuyMeACoffee pages. And follow also at Ko-fi and BuyMeACoffee.
