Hello Everybody,
I just started to work on publishing low-content books on Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) and then Lulu (as a side hustle). I intend to publish, Sudoku, Crossword Puzzles, Word Search, some other puzzles/games, Painting, and Mandala. This is the niche I chose with the name, OzFunBooks.
Oz is my shortened name. There is no relation with the Wizard of Oz. :)

I am a beginner
As I mentioned, I am not a professional. I just began.
I followed 2 courses on Udemy to learn how to publish.
Publishing Courses on Udemy
The first is Romney T. NELSON’s AMAZON KDP Low and No Content Self-Publishing Accelerator Course.
The second one is Ben MCQUEENEY’s Publish Profitable Low Content Books on Amazon KDP in 2024.
I benefited greatly from both Courses.
I gave 5 stars to the first course and 4.5 stars to the second course. If you will buy only one, I advise you to buy the first one. If you need more courses, I highly advise you to buy both. The first one is very well organized and high-quality, and the second one emphasizes keyword research very well, which is key to success. (NOT affiliate links)
Risks of Publishing on Amazon KDP.
Why did I start writing on medium and share my journey with you, instead of just publishing low-content books on Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP)?
Because:
- If you publish low-content books, you have to be well prepared at the beginning.
- If you don’t do good keyword and category research and shape your book accordingly, you will have very little chance of being seen…
- If you don’t prepare a very high-quality book and book cover, with a good description and A+ content, you won’t be able to sell much.
- If you don’t promote very well in the first 30 days, Amazon will send your books behind thousands of books and you won’t be able to sell as you like.
My Method
Because of the above risks and because I am a beginner, my method is to learn everything very well and start publishing strong from the beginning. This is my Journey. And within this journey, I will share everything with you.
When I am going to start publishing on Amazon KDP, I aim to have enough experience to publish high-quality books and boost in the first 30 days, because the first 30 days are important.
During this journey, I will learn also from other publishers' mistakes, and I will “share my experience”…
Producing from the Beginning
The risk of above method is to spend months to learning and not be able to start for a long time. As perfectionism is the killer of success, I intend to start producing from day 1.
I will do everything step by step. As I move forward, I will write on medium to share my experience with you.
I will prepare free puzzles and paintings and share them with you through BuyMeACoffee, Ko-Fi and Gumroad.
As you may know, BuyMeACoffee and Ko-Fi are platforms where creators, artists, and writers can share their products for free or paid, and receive support from their fans, followers, or users in the form of monetary contributions. And Gumroad is an online platform that enables creators to sell (free or paid) products directly to consumers.
I aim to build a large and engaged audience, happy with free puzzles, and Amazon publishers happy with the publishing experience shared daily.
Then, when I get ready to publish on Amazon, I will ask for support from my followers to buy and review my books on Amazon.
Free products are always good. If I can combine it with quality, I hope I will gain hearts.
Paid and Free Tools
During this journey, I will need lots of free and paid tools.
Free tools are very good buy generally not fully capable.
Some paid tools are very useful and saves you time, but monthly/yearly payments means you will be paying them for your publishing life.
The BEST ones are the ones you pay ONCE for LIFETIME.
