I’m excited to announce that Amazon Halo is available today in the U.S. for all customers!

Since launching into Early Access in August, we’ve been on a shared journey with Halo members. We’ve discovered from the feedback, feature requests, and engagement that this community of members truly exemplifies Halo — they’re smart, optimistic, curious, and encouraging. They take a long-term view of health and wellness. And they understand that small daily changes — such as exploring new fitness routines, being less sedentary, and getting enough restful sleep — can yield big results over time.

If you’re not yet familiar with Halo, welcome! Amazon Halo is a membership dedicated to helping customers improve their health and wellness. The Halo Band and app surface information and insights to help you measure what matters and to connect the dots on what works best for you. Let’s dive deeper.

The Halo Band is a comfortable wristband purpose-built to focus on your health and wellness, so you can focus on your life. That’s why it doesn’t have a screen, and won’t constantly buzz or distract you.

The Halo app has five core features:

  • Activity: Halo goes beyond counting steps to measure the intensity and duration of your activity, as well as sedentary time. Then it helps you track it all against a weekly goal of 150 points based on recommendations from the American Heart Association. Learn more about the Halo Activity score.
  • Body: Body fat percentage is a better measure of overall health than weight or body mass index (BMI) alone. With Halo, you can measure your body fat percentage from the comfort and privacy of your own home with nearly twice the accuracy of leading at-home smart scales. Learn more about the Halo Body feature.
  • Tone: Health includes not only physical, but also social and emotional wellbeing. Halo can help you understand how you sound to others, so you can be mindful of your communication and relationships. Learn more about the Halo Tone feature.
  • Sleep: Halo measures the quality and quantity of your sleep, time spent in the various phases of sleep, skin temperature while sleeping, and more — all without having to charge your Halo Band every day.
  • Lab: Try workouts, meditations, and challenges from experts on our team, as well as from SWEAT, WW, Headspace, Relax Melodies, Exhale, the American Heart Association, and others to turn information into action and see measurable changes across activity, sleep, mindfulness, and more.

Early Access members have loved getting a more comprehensive view of their health with Halo. They’ve also found a lot of value in getting rich sleep data, measuring the intensity of their activity instead of just steps, and discovering how Tone can be useful in their communication styles. With their enthusiasm, our Early Access members keep inspiring us to deliver more and we’re excited to share a few updates:

  • Insights: Insights help connect the dots by highlighting interesting trends or patterns and offering next steps to better understand or change them. For example, you might see weekly trends in activity and sleep, peak periods of positivity and energy in your tone of voice, or comparisons of your health data against recommended levels. Insights has shown me that my Activity points increase week-over-week when I focus on getting workouts done in the morning instead of waiting until the end of the day.
  • On-Demand Workouts: With winter weather moving in and many of us still working from home, getting a healthy amount of activity is more important than ever. So we added on-demand workouts from leading brands and trainers such as Orangetheory Fitness, Openfit, Aaptiv, Exhale, P.volve, and Street Parking. You can filter by workout duration, category, or difficulty level to find the right workout to take your fitness to the next level. These on-demand workouts give you the flexibility to try different activities to keep things interesting and discover what works best for you. My family and I especially enjoy doing the Danger Train Halo home fitness routines from our favorite quarterback, Russell Wilson — “All aboard!”

It’s always Day 1 for Amazon Halo. Our team is listening to customer feedback and hard at work to provide even more value for Halo members in the weeks and months ahead. Visit amazon.com/haloband to get your Amazon Halo Band, which includes six months of Halo membership, for just $99.99. If you’re already a Halo member, email us at myhalostory@amazon.com to share your success stories, and keep the feedback coming — we are on this journey together and we can’t wait to hear from you!

Be well.

Melissa Cha is the Vice President of Amazon Halo. Her wellness goal is to do a Halo mindfulness lab every evening this week.
