It’s been another amazing month for us here at Amberdata. We are honored to be the trusted partner of so many people building their businesses.

We’re continuing to see massive growth in user adoptions — we love it!

But one of the best things about this month has got to be enhancements to our API adding breadth and depth that are only making it more powerful than ever.

4 major releases that are on the way!

You asked for them, and we’ve been hard at work to build them.

  1. Write to Ethereum — We’ve gotten loads of positive feedback on how comprehensive the data is that our API offers. Now it’s write capable, enabling our APIs to be a drop in replacement for current solutions. The full operations of the EVM as easy as a REST call.
  2. RPC (Remote Procedure Call) Compliance Support — This one’s huge for developers or anyone running their own node to get access to data. RPC support will soon be available for the API. What does that mean for you?
  • Simple Implementation — Compatible with existing Ethereum client libraries. As easy as configuring a new Ethereum endpoint. Replace your full/archival node in just minutes gaining availability, scale ability and reducing your operational complexity.
  • Requests Served Faster & More Reliably — Data you are after is already downloaded and indexed. Served right from our high-performance API.
  • Price and Validation Data Returned in Standard Requests — Allows for new response attributes without breaking the Ethereum RPC spec for existing ones (e.g., returning price during eth_getBalance lookups). Only Amberdata gives you this!

3. Integration SDK — Our SDK allows for seamless integration with your Node.js or browser, provides access to real-time blockchain and market data events with the simple Websocket wrapper, and allows for a drop-in replacement for web3js and etherjs — but with deeper, better data delivered via a highly-available blazing fast service.

4. Data Breadth Update — And last but not least, more blockchain data! We are proud to announce the addition of 7 new on-chain sources:

  • Bitcoin (BTC)
  • Litecoin (LTC)
  • Bitcoin Cash (BCH)
  • Dash (DASH)
  • Zcash (ZEC)
  • Stellar (XLM)
  • Ripple (XRP)

We’ll be rolling out all these releases soon so keep an eye out for updates! If you are interested in getting early beta access — shoot us an email

Now the only question is, if you haven’t signed up already, what could POSSIBLY be holding you back?

And don’t forget to keep that feedback coming! It’s what fuels us to keep on making Amberdata more innovative, more helpful, and build for users just like you.

Speaking of our amazing community, I had the pleasure of talking face-to-face with a few of our customers and partners at Trader’s Expo in Chicago this month. I love Chicago — it feels like the entire city operates around creating, taking and making markets! It was great to connect/reconnect with folks who put money behind their ideas daily. I have tremendous respect for traders. I was definitely reminiscing about the days when our CTO Joanes and I developed, tested and ran strategies for a proprietary trading shop.

It was a real blast from my trader past, and I loved every second of it!

While I was there, I got a taste of the enthusiasm that’s continuing to build around crypto assets and data intelligence (which we always love to hear of course).

Tomas Lee of FundStrat made a strong case that Crypto has become an asset class, and this is only going to keep on growing. 92% of millennials don’t trust banks. And by 2020, they’ll have $7 trillion in liquid assets. And best of all, 10% of that is expected to be allocated to Crypto.

That’s $700 billion in Crypto in less than a year!

But one of the best quotes we heard by far was this:

“There are only two types of trading firms in Chicago: those who are trading crypto, and those who are getting ready to.”

As with the internet once unleashed it was an unstoppable force that has impacted the entire world. Blockchain and Crypto Assets will reach every edge of the internet, and we are watching this happening in real-time. You can too with Amberdata!

We’re heading to Berlin Blockchain Week later this month. So if you’re in the neighborhood or know someone we should be talking to, let’s connect!

A few other quick updates:

That’s it for this month! But as always, keep that feedback coming. We’re always adding new features, tweaking functionality, and looking for ways to make Amberdata better than ever for you.

Here’s to another awesome month!
