On one particular day as I put my playlist on repeat, it suddenly played this song Girl by SYML (pronounced “sim-mel” meaning simple). The lyrics, the voice, the video and the story behind it just completely wrecked me. I’d like to see it as a pure expression of a father’s love to his little daughter.
I was having a rough day and during this lockdown, the isolation had its toll on me. I was struggling with a project and boy oh boy, did it cost me my energy. It felt like I didn’t have the power to wake up in the morning and couldn’t rest at night. I couldn’t wake up and go about my day with intentions anymore. I got to find a new way. And then on that cold night, it struck me. I love it when God speaks through music in different ways. I really felt His presence comforting and empowering me at the same time. And every time I listen to this song, I know it IS Him speaking to me,
