The Ambition of Andrew Londre: Revitalizing an Entire County
Andrew Londre, co-founder of Urbanlocity LLC, is an economic development professional, community leader, urban innovator, and social entrepreneur.
Since being a cashier at the People’s Food Co-op in La Crosse County, Andrew has risen to the forefront of his community’s innovation and development. He logged over 300 hours as an intern at the La Crosse County Economic Development Department, then worked as a line-therapist for La Crosse children with autism, and then as a county board supervisor. He served on the board of directors for the People’s Food Co-op, the same place where he was once a cashier, and now serves on the board if directors for the La Crosse Neighborhood Development Corporation, which he founded.
For the past three years Andrew has worked full time with Couleecap, Inc., helping entrepreneurs in the La Crosse area start and expand businesses. After assisting around 100 entrepreneurs through one-on-one counseling, small group programming, and through a downtown La Crosse co-work space he launched earlier this year, Andrew caught the startup bug himself. Now, he and his business partner, Adrian Lipscombe, run a unique urban design firm, Urbanlocity, that does everything from architecture and planning to community engagement and employer branding. The firm provides a high-tech solution Andrew has developed to solve one of the most pressing challenges facing cities, especially small to mid-sized, all over the world: talent attraction.
Even after being a recipient of the Top 40 Under 40 Urban Innovators in the United States as part of the Vanguard Conference, Andrew continues starting up new projects in the La Crosse area, including La Crosse SOUP, a bi-monthly crowdfunding dinner in which attendees pay for, listen to everal pitches on ideas that will improve the community, and then vote on which one to fund.
But above all, his favorite way to spend time these days is with his wife, Romi, and their new daughter, Eleanor.
Ambitious Adventures is about hope. All it takes is one episode, one inspirational story, one moment to change someone’s life. The way we tell stories can do that. The way we market and promote our shows can do that. The entrepreneurs we are featuring can do that. And you can help us to do that by pledging to our Kickstarter campaign.
