How to Buy ETH with USD on Ambo
This tutorial will walk you through two processes. First, we’ll help you register your Wyre account in order to be verified, and then we’ll show you how to conveniently purchase crypto using the Ambo app.
Part 1: Registering your account and getting verified.
Open the Ambo app and click on “Ethereum,” and then scroll to the bottom of the page to select “Buy.”
Next, select “Buy with Bank / Card.”
You’ll then be prompted to enter the following information about yourself:
- First and Last Name
- Email Address
- Phone Number
- Date of Birth
The subsequent screen will prompt you to enter your current address.
You’ll then have to upload photos of both the front and back of your government-issued ID. You can upload photos from your phone by clicking browse and selecting the images.
Finally, you will be asked for your Social Security number.
After this information has been entered, the next step is to connect your bank account.
You’ll be asked to connect to your bank account via the payment platform Plaid.
You’re almost done!
All we need now is your electronic signature in order to certify to your identity.
Congrats! You made it! Please allow at least 24 hours for your account to be verified, and check your email address for a confirmation email.
Part 2: Making a Purchase
Once you receive verification confirmation, you’ll be able to make your first purchase of cryptocurrency using the Ambo app. This example outlines the purchase of Ether, the crypto that runs on the Ethereum blockchain.
Open the wallet and under “Balance” you’ll be able to click on “Ethereum.” Scroll to the bottom of the page and Click “Buy.”
You will then be prompted with “Buy with Bank / Card.” On the next page, click “Fund Wallet.”
Choose the bank account that you want to withdraw from. If you only have one, it will be pre-selected. Confirm the dollar amount, and that the correct cryptocurrency you want to purchase has been selected. Then click “Fund.”
You will now be taken to screen to review your purchase details. Make sure everything looks correct, read and agree to the terms and conditions, and then select “Confirm.”
*Important Note About Purchasing Through Ambo/Wyre*
Wyre guarantees the purchase price of Ether at the time of your transaction, but you will not have immediate access to the Ether. Once your funds have cleared on Wyre’s side, the Ether is then released to your wallet. This process generally takes 3–5 business days.
Once the transaction has been processed, a landing page will notify you of your success!
Congratulations! You have made your first purchase in the Ambo app and are ready to go! Please remember it will generally take 3–5 business days for the automated clearing house (ACH) transfer.
