In a startup, entrepreneurs do all it takes to build a dream company. To keep things in perspective, it’s always People, Products & Profits. What teams think, do, aspire every day really matters to build that dream company.

Let’s decode it, Most crucial part of the startup is people and execution, and that can only happen with clarity at both sides ( Entrepreneur and the team ). So, as entrepreneurs, how do we make it happen? OKR is the ideal solution, OKR — Objective Key Result ( if you are not familiar, please read our post here ) is a proven goal-setting method anyone can adopt to achieve goals

How you can use OKR at your startup?

  • Entrepreneurs should publish clear goals. Short term / long term. Sell the goals to your own people before selling the outcomes to your customers.
  • Define OKRs at Company, Team and as well entertain individuals to set OKRs for themself ( Individual OKRs are more focused on self-development typically )
  • Make sure OKRs alignment in achieving the overall outcome
  • Correct, Discuss, Brainstorm the key results defined by the team
  • Have a data-drive 1-to-1 discussion at your appraisals based on their contribution. You don’t have to say, they know it.

Big Outcome

You have the team which is decisive, action-oriented, practice leadership, and ultimately the culture and mindset.

It makes you a better leader!

When do you know you are a better leader? So, I strongly believe, it starts at your own startup and between your people. OKR methodology enables the practice.
