Singapore’s MRT (mass rapid transit) system is probably the fastest way to zip around the country. The extensive rail network means that most of Singapore’s key attractions are within walking distance from an MRT station.

There are many modes of transportation in Sing such as MRT, bus and taxi. The cheapest and most convenient is still MRT. That is why the majority of Singaporeans use this system. Take MRT from Changi Airport to City Center

There will be a customer service counter (passenger service) right at the airport selling EZ link cards which can be used to go to the MRT, bus and monorail - a train electricity on Sentosa island. You should buy this card because the travel price with the EZ link card is much cheaper than any individual trips. You can also apply it to ride the bus by swiping the card at the reader on the bus.

Take MRT in the City Center

- Bayfront: take the sky garden and Marina Bay (9) to the famous Marina Bay Sand

- HarbourFront (6): the last point is the shopping mall, from here you can catch the Skytrain to Sentosa Island

Notes When Traveling by MRT in Singapore

- Absolutely no eating or smoking in the MRT area; it will be punished severely.

- Each train station usually has a large commercial center so you can combine shopping very conveniently.

- When the train arrives you need to stand at the yellow line’s edge which separates each entrance of the train. After waiting for the people in the train to step out, you are allowed to board. It is polite behavior of everyone here.

- When stepping on an elevator, usually stand on the left, to make way for those in a hurry they will run on your right.

- The operating hours of the train end at 23 PM and the morning usually starts from 5–6 AM, you need to pay attention to avoid missed trains late at night or to have to go early in the morning, especially to avoid being late for leaving airport.
