Getting started with the new Amentum Aerospace API portal

Iwan here on behalf of the team at Amentum Aerospace — we make it easier to access scientific data and software using web APIs. We help users in industries ranging from aviation and space operations, through to shipping and navigation.
We have created a new API portal to better manage our API offerings. This post shows you how to get started.
Register & Login
From our website, follow the link in the upper left corner to register for a new API account, or log in to an existing one.
Check your email and follow the link to verify your account.
Generate a key
Next up, you will need to generate a key to authenticate your API requests. Key generation happens on the Settings page.
Check your email and keep the API key safe (we also recommend re-generating your key periodically as a security measure).
Navigate the documentation
Click the link on your service, or the category heading, to read the API docs. The documentation includes descriptions of API endpoints, expected inputs and outputs, example response JSON, and code samples to get you started.
NOTE: The API key needs to be included as a HTTP header “API-Key” in every request, as per examples.

Subscribe
The subscriptions all come with a 14 day free trial and include a service level agreement. Prices and quotas for the ongoing monthly subscription are shown on the Subscriptions page.
Review the Terms and Conditions and, if they are agreeable, proceed to the checkout to complete the subscription.
Your monthly usage will update automatically in the Your Subscriptions section of the Subscriptions page. Your monthly quota is also shown there. You will receive an email when you hit 90% of the quota. The service will stop once you hit 100%, and will recommence at the beginning of the next monthly cycle.
Register a Payment Method through the developer portal to continue with a monthly paid subscription and ensure continuity of service: https://developer.amentum.io/settings
