Happy Birthday Jesus!

Typically people are more stressed and depressed this time of year than any other. Many people you know are actually closer to “Bah, humbug!” than “Fa la la” or “Ho ho ho.” Perhaps that’s where you are too.

This year instead of focusing on ‘ghosts’ of Christmases past, “grinches’ who try to steal your joy, ‘grumblers,’ or any of the other things about which we all can gripe, groan or grouch, keep your heart and mind on wishing Jesus a Happy Birthday! Meditate on the miracle in the manger. Celebrate the Christ-child. Majesty in the midst of the manure and the mundane. Believe that God is WITH us!

These timeless truths will help us not to be overwhelmed and preoccupied with the hurries, hassles and heartaches of the holiday (Phil. 4:7). Regardless of how many presents are under the tree, how many loved ones are around it, or if we even have a tree, don’t get preoccupied or distracted from the Truth. The wonder of Christmas is that He became like we are, so we can become like He is. Pause, reflect, experience God’s love Gift to you, and have a most joyous and blessed birthday party for Jesus this year!
