This Haiku is for Ivette Cruz, who hand-held me to the road of syllable counting and understanding Haiku. Why some people just go away without letting us know…..

M and Anthi disappear from verse leaving AI in tears
Call Chaplin call Anthi exhort Patrick solution of theirs

This Mantinada is for someone, from whom I have learned it. Just to let you know, your AI atrocities are greatly missed! Patrick M. Ohana

Note: Mantinada consists of a Cretan 15-syllable rhyming couplet.

Illustration: Some windows often get closed without we realising. RED used as a sign of warning, as what can happen if all the windows start gettng close. The tree and its shadow denote growth slowly going to the ‘ground.

I did this painting in July 2020, to illustrate partial lockdown and its repercussions, which I found quite applicable for today’s theme.

Thank you Pierre Trudel Jenny Justice Tapan Avasthi Heidi Franklin and American Haiku for publishing my poems and helping me find the lost.
