Kentucky gubernatorial GOP nominee Daniel Cameron appears to not be showing up for work as the state’s Attorney General, the Mississippi governor slammed the Biden administration’s student debt forgiveness program despite having his PPP loans forgiven, and the North Carolina gubernatorial GOP frontrunner is in hot water (again) — welcome to this week’s State of the States.

In a wild report from the HuffPost, it appears that Daniel Cameron may not be going to work. Records show Cameron hasn’t fobbed into his office since January 2020, and his office repeatedly refused to give an explanation as to why. More bad news for Cameron was that he had to settle for Rep. Robby Mills as his running mate. Admittedly, the two men share a passion for instituting Matt Bevin’s disastrous plan to gut Medicaid as well as taking away Kentuckians’ right to make their own healthcare decisions. Cameron, who has vehemently defended the state’s near-total abortion ban, doubled down on his anti-choice record as he wants to track Kentuckians who go out of state to seek an abortion.

Jeff Landry joined Daniel Cameron in signing a letter to the Biden administration that aimed to allow state attorneys general to track the movements of those going out of state to seek an abortion.

Gov. Tate Reeves was on defense (again) this week as a new report detailed how, despite receiving hundreds of thousands of dollars in PPP loan forgiveness, he railed against the Biden administration’s student debt forgiveness program.

Mark Robinson, who is continuing to face fierce bipartisan backlash over his antisemitic history, has been completely absent from the NC Senate’s legislative session, which he is supposed to oversee as lieutenant governor. If that wasn’t enough, Robinson attacked his Democratic opponent for suing pharmaceutical companies over their role in the opioid crisis — yes you read that correctly.
