I’m Allyson Marcus, the political director for American Bridge. It’s so exciting to work at an organization that is doing the critical work of holding Republicans at all levels accountable and protecting our election infrastructure. And it’s an honor to do this work alongside our incredibly talented team.

A major part of my role at AB21 is managing our paid media program — which includes opinion and messaging research as well as executing our television, digital, and radio ads. We use every tool in our toolbox to reach key voters with the messages they need to hear in order to increase their support for President Joe Biden and Democrats up and down the ballot.

In 2020, we saw that women voters, particularly in suburban areas, were key to President Biden’s victory in battleground states, and they helped Democrats down ballot achieve historic wins. For the 2022 midterms, we are reaching women in suburban, exurban, and rural areas in key battleground states who powered Democrats across the country, at all levels of government, to victory in 2018 and 2020. Our recent polling shows that these women feel good about their personal finances since President Biden took office, and we want to make sure they are connecting these feelings to the positive steps taken by President Biden and his administration.

I’m excited to share our first two ads for 2022, where we will spend $5 million as part of an eight-figure paid media program to reach these women. Over the coming months, we will share these ads in areas outside of major media markets on television, radio, and digital in the battleground states of Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh, Erie, and Johnstown media markets), Georgia (Savannah and Augusta), Arizona (Tucson), and Nevada (Reno).

Western Pennsylvania voters will meet Brandon, a double amputee veteran who lives in Elizabeth. Brandon met then-Vice President Biden when he was recovering from his injuries at Walter Reed hospital. Even though he is a Republican, Brandon knows President Biden is always thinking about what’s best for Pennsylvania families and veterans.

In Georgia, voters will meet Jen, the owner of a small business in Augusta. She is grateful President Biden is looking out for middle-class Americans by taking bold steps to get the economy moving and to lower costs for working families.

As the 2022 midterms quickly approach, our team is excited to continue sharing our polling and paid media efforts, providing regular updates right here on the innovative and exciting work American Bridge is doing across the country. Be sure to follow us to stay in the loop.
