Building a house means creating a home
Strong and stable homes are the foundation of a thriving community. Habitat for Humanity works hand-in-hand with future homeowners to help them achieve the dream of homeownership. Habitat homeowners provide an average of 350 sweat equity hours, alongside volunteers to build their homes from foundation to roofline.
Tracy Brunnette, American Family senior operational excellence specialist in Minnesota, has always been grateful to have a home of her own, especially on cold winter days in the Twin Cities. She wanted to do more to help others in her community achieve that same stability and security.
With the firm belief that we can achieve our purpose of championing dreams and opportunities so everyone can rise, Tracy sought the support of Demetrius Charles, American Family Central Region sales director, and the entire Minnesota American Family sales and support team to create partnerships with Habitat for Humanity affiliates across the state.
“Community support is fundamental to demonstrating our care for our customers and community members,” says Charles. “Tracy has led the way for a partnership that is a win for our customers, company and agency owners who are leaders in their local communities.”
Since 2022, Tracy has led the efforts of over 70 Minnesota American Family agency owners in the building of homes across the state, raising over $35,000 for Habitat for Humanity affiliates in 14 different communities.
Tracy’s local efforts inspired American Family’s enhanced partnership with Habitat for Humanity International, which engaged over 600 American Family agency owners, AmFam Group employees and customers in 2023.
This partnership puts our people and purpose to action, helping more families achieve the dream of homeownership in our communities. It’s part of our commitment to ensure that everyone feels safe and protected under AmFam’s roof.
