CryptoStache Infiltrates AMGI Studios
As part of its mission to onboard new users into web3 through community and IP integration, AMGI Studios strives to provide creators in the My Pet Hooligan community with opportunities to be involved in shaping the game. In anticipation of the next version of the game, AMGI has been showcasing the early build of My Pet Hooligan with some of web3’s most cherished content creators.
Shea Newkirk, also known as CryptoStache, is an early NFT and cryptocurrency investor who has been creating crypto content since 2017. A lifelong gamer, ’Stache produces educational yet fun content to help anyone who’s interested in playing web3 games understand NFTs, blockchain gaming and the future of the Metaverse for its users. Aside from his educational videos, ’Stache also provides reliable news updates on the latest events in blockchain gaming.
Below are some snippets from exclusive interviews that CryptoStache has done with the AMGI team where they give a demo of the current version of My Pet Hooligan, open the doors to the AMGI headquarters, and share some insights about AMGI’s plans for MPH.
In this video, ’Stache takes a tour of the AMGI headquarters to see the studio’s proprietary technology stack and meet some of the great minds behind My Pet Hooligan, including Art Director Jonathan McDonald and Head of Development Kevin Johnson.
In this interview, AMGI Chief Creative and Technology Officer, Colin Brady, and everyone’s favorite delinquent rabbit, Hooli, join ’Stache in the studio to give the community some early sneak peeks and talk about the studio’s plans for Crystal Bun, GDC and the new version of My Pet Hooligan.
CryptoStache (1:57): One thing that I have noticed here in the studio is that there has been an invasion of bots here. We are talking about brand-new bots that seem to be a little crazy and AI-driven. Can you tell us a bit about what is going on here?
Colin (2:18): Ever since we designed Crystal Bun, she has taken on a life of her own. It’s a mystery to see what she says and does. We haven’t revealed anything publicly. We have given glimpses to our loyal Karrot Gang, but our Crystal Bun character, especially being from the CypherBuns faction herself, might be a bit closer to Meta ZuckBot than we might be comfortable with.
CryptoStache (2:50): I feel like that is a scary thing. You just let AI loose over here.
Colin (3:27): This actually may become a big product in and of itself. The game team and developer team here thought they should put this in The Rabbit Hole and I couldn’t be happier, but we think we may have a standalone way for people to communicate with our Hooligans even if they are not in The Rabbit Hole.
CryptoStache (4:30): GDC — as you guys know, the Game Developers Conference — is one of the biggest ones here in the United States. You guys are going to be there too, right?
Colin (5:04): There might be some virtual characters there. We are very excited about GDC. We are going to be showing the world some new stuff on some large screens. There are some partners, which we will announce very soon, hopefully. We like to start right at the top, so we are going for some bigger names out there, and we are very grateful for the support and the connections we have. We have a lot of household names that we are talking to right now, and it might be that a few of these can come together.
CryptoStache (5:42): Besides this upcoming event, what other things are in the can here, Hooli? Is the game launching soon?
Hooli (5:54): The game is coming soon. We have got a lot of great music that is being made for the game and community that is coming out.
Colin (6:09): We also have this brand-new early-access alpha coming out to our loyal Karrot Gang, and this is a complete rebuild of The Rabbit Hole, a completely new architecture. We have new game modes coming your way, Battle Royale and Team Death Match. We have a lot of exciting things that people have been asking for, but we are also incorporating the immi technology into the Rabbit Hole game. It is a fascinating technology where we have full-body animation, very high-quality Disney-style animation, on a live Hooligan. We have now taken this technology and folded it into AI and The Rabbit Hole, so we firmly believe that we are the leaders in the highest-quality live character animation in this space.
