Getting to Know the My Pet Hooligan Ecosystem
This article introduces some of the projects and essential components that make up the My Pet Hooligan (MPH) IP such as an ever-evolving storyline, an immersive adventure game that leverages AMGI’s creator tools like Hooligram, and a list of notable partners in the web2 and web3 space that are supporting MPH as it pushes the boundaries of gaming and entertainment.
My Pet Hooligan (MPH)
Inspired by Grand Theft Auto (GTA), Ratchet and Clank, and Zootopia, the My Pet Hooligan NFT characters are deeply tied to the game’s lore, starting with the Hooligans, the rebellious rabbits of Hooliland who were once enslaved by their mysterious corporate overlord, Meta ZuckBot, but have broken free and are now in open rebellion against him. The Genesis collection features the seven unique Hooligan factions that make up the world of My Pet Hooligan.
The IP’s main character is Hooli, the Hooligans’ ringleader. Using proprietary tools and real-time animation, the studio has brought the character to life in several live events, such as shout-outs, interviews and a weekly web3 news show.
In line with AMGI’s goal of involving its player community in the storytelling process, the studio also asked the community to vote for a player from each of the seven factions as a faction leader to form a group called Hooli’s Heroes. Leading up to the ZuckBots mint, these faction leaders were included in animated content that shows them in their MPH avatar form, helping Hooli carry out a heist at ZuckCorp, Meta ZuckBot’s mega-corporation, where they broke out the robots that the nefarious tyrant had in his control. These ZuckBots are divided into their own seven factions, three of which have been revealed, namely OG, QT and L3GZ.
The My Pet Hooligan Game
The My Pet Hooligan game is AMGI’s take on elevating gaming with new technology while making it a priority to create a fun game first. The project combines the ease of access offered by traditional gaming with real-time animation tools and true digital ownership afforded by blockchain. Notable features of the game include AI-driven non-player characters (NPC) and AMGI’s proprietary facial motion capture technology that allows an on-screen character to reflect the movements and expressions of the player using the computer’s camera. This marks a new wave of personalized gaming experiences for players as they begin to fully control their in-game character.
It is not a requirement to own an MPH NFT to play My Pet Hooligan, which is free-to-play and will soon be open to anyone who wants to play. However, MPH NFT holders can play as their unique Hooligan and start with the weapon or item their Hooligan is holding. Other weapons in the game can also be picked up from specific spots marked on the in-game map. ZuckBot NFT holders will be able to join and use their ZuckBot character for in-game utilities and mini-games as well.
For now, players can fight against evil ZuckBots or other Hooligans in My Pet Hooligan, but the team has plans to add a variety of game modes like Team Death Match, free-for-all, PvP and PvE. The world within MPH can be traversed by using a skateboard to explore buildings like the cinema, mall and bar, which also include built-in interiors.
My Pet Hooligan NFTs
The MPH NFT collection consists of 8,888 unique 3D characters that can be used to play My Pet Hooligan and are interoperable with all AMGI technologies such as Hooligram.
MPH NFT holders can connect their wallet and download their FBX files on the official My Pet Hooligan website. These files contain the holder’s unique MPH characters as 3D objects, including all the texture maps of the same quality, geometry and mesh used by AMGI.
MPH has completed three phases of its roadmap, starting with a free OG ZuckBot and Key NFT claim for MPH NFT holders.
Phase 2 brought about the release of The SPROUT (Super Powered Robotic Output) Machine, which allows players to connect a ZuckBot and burn a Key NFT. Burning a Key can generate a QT ZuckBot, L3GZ ZuckBot or a ZuckBox. Key burning is currently on hold.
Phase 3 gave holders the ability to burn their ZuckBox NFT, which can grant five to eight different ZuckCorp Items. These items will have greater utility in the next two phases of the roadmap.
Currently, the OG, QT and L3GZ ZuckBot factions have been revealed, with four more to come. A ZuckBots Battle Arena mini mobile game is being developed, where players will be able to pit their ZuckBots against each other to earn rewards.
Partnerships and Collaborations
Beyond the My Pet Hooligan game, the AMGI team is working on a My Pet Hooligan feature film to transform the MPH IP into a full cinematic experience. With the first draft of the film now complete, the AMGI team is looking for MPH NFT holders to have their own Hooligan star in the production.
AMGI leans on its partners in the web3 space, designing My Pet Hooligan’s token economics and game structure with leading gaming venture fund BITKRAFT, digital asset research firm Delphi Digital and web3 gaming guild Yield Guild Games. Recent partnerships have also been established with Polygon Studios which will provide MPH with significant support, marketing and services. Other partnerships include those with web3 games such as Limit Break’s DigiDaigaku and DogePound, for which the studio has created animated content using their IP.
