The month of July has been one heck of a ride for AMGI Studios, with the early access release of My Pet Hooligan (MPH) on the Epic Games Store marking a significant milestone for the studio and its team. This launch will allow MPH to reach a wider gaming audience, setting the stage for its upcoming public release, which will introduce more exciting game modes for the Karrot Gang to dive into and unleash all sorts of mayhem like only a Hooligan can.

Before the launch, the AMGI team had an opportunity to meet with Kate Irwin, Decrypt’s Gaming Lead Reporter and the Creative Producer of GG by Decrypt, at the 3XP Web3 Gaming Expo in Los Angeles. Kate also toured AMGI headquarters, where she interviewed some members of the team to inform the article she was writing. That article turned out to be a very encouraging review of My Pet Hooligan, which Kate compares to Fortnite, Epic Games’ very own battle royale that is played by millions.
Some games look gorgeous in marketing screenshots but leave a lot to be desired once the matches start (a.k.a. “bullshots”). MPH has the opposite effect — its character movement, animations and weapon play make the game feel AAA-quality even in this early state.
Battle royale games like Fortnite and Apex Legends are so successful in part because of their unique and compelling takes on movement — and MPH is no different.
