Amici’s Virtual Canoe Heads for Kids: Another Record-Breaking Year!

Amici’s second Virtual Canoe Heads for Kids was another resounding success! As pandemic restrictions continued, the success of Canoe Heads for Kids 2021 was another example of just how unbreakable the camp spirit is and all that can be achieved when the Amici community comes together.

In 2021, we once again challenged Canoe Heads to complete a 15 km journey or 15 camp activities anywhere, anyhow! We saw camp champions fill their days with canoeing, kayaking, biking, campfires in their backyards, building tents in their living rooms and some even ran full marathons!

There is nothing that brings the Amici community together quite like Canoe Heads, and we are so grateful to our community for coming together despite the distance and screens in between! By tuning into social media on June 5, 2021, it was clear that the magic of camp is alive and well.

Raising more than $256,000, Amici’s Virtual Canoe Heads for Kids 2021 knocked all expectations out of the park. Thank you to all of our virtual Canoe Heads for not only far exceeding their fundraising goal to help children return to camp, but for maintaining the enthusiasm, positivity and passion for fun that we learn at camp.

Thank you to everyone who donated, sponsored and cheered on Canoe Heads in 2021. We are so grateful for your support in ensuring children from low-income families were able to experience the magic of camp in Summer 2021, whether it was from home or by making their triumphant return to camp.

“As amazing as it was to see the outpouring of enthusiasm and support for our virtual event in 2021, the Canoe Heads for Kids Steering Committee is absolutely ecstatic about returning to the Toronto Waterfront and once again having an in-person component to our event this year!” says Phil Williams, Canoe Heads Co-Chair. “We have big things planned and cannot wait to celebrate with everyone participating in Canoe Heads in 2022!”

After two years of virtual Canoe Heads fun, we are thrilled to announce our first-ever hybrid Canoe Heads for Kids. Canoe Heads will have the choice to join us along the waterfront in person on May 28, or participate virtually from wherever they may be!

We are thrilled that for the first time in more than two years, the Amici community can safely celebrate the magic of camp together in-person, while raising funds to ensure that all Amici campers can attend camp in summer 2022.

Our long-awaited return to the waterfront is certainly one you won’t want to miss! To register and learn more about Amici’s Canoe Heads for Kids 2022, please visit www.canoeheadsforkids.com
