A letter from camp!

In summer 2023, we received this letter from a former Amici camper now working as a counsellor at camp.

“Wow! When I think about camp I think about all the amazing friendships I made, all the genuine laughing. All the late night adventures and brisk morning air. If it weren’t for camp I never would have attempted and/or completed canoe levels or have had the opportunity to learn or know what windsurfing was.

Camp has done more than just given me great memories to look back on. It has also opened the door to even bigger and better futures with the skills I have acquired not just knowledge of how to do the activities but also knowing what it means to be a campers and the impactfulness counsellors had on me. It makes me excited to show those same campers now how AWESOME and lucky we are to be able to embrace the great outdoors together learning every step of the way.

Thank you for blessing me and my family with this chance to grow. Camp is a community where I feel I belong with no judgement. I cannot imagine my summers without it, even then it doesn’t end after the summer. It has shaped every decision in my life since my first two weeks away!

Camp has especially showed me what it means to be compassionate and uplifting toward other people and this quality has helped me build even stronger relationships. A little piece of camp will always be with me and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I am forever grateful to Amici for making camp possible.”
