Canoe Heads for Kids 2023

The sun was shining, campy smiles were seen for miles, and a record-breaking $277,189 was raised in support of Amici campers. Canoe Heads for Kids 2023 was truly one for the record books!

Amici’s Canoe Heads for Kids 2023 presented by Canadian Tire Leaside marked our second-ever hybrid event, welcoming camp enthusiasts to participate virtually or join us along Toronto’s waterfront. We were thrilled to see virtual Canoe Heads from across Canada complete their own 15km journey, whether running, cycling or paddling, or complete 15 camp activities at home, like tie-dye or making s’mores!

To start the day off, Canoe Heads participants heard from Amici camper Nathan, and his mother Eastlynn. Eastlynn shared the profound impact that camp has had on Nathan. This meaningful story helped inspire Canoe Heads participants as they embarked on the challenging 15km urban canoe trip, portaging and paddling across Toronto’s waterfront. The parade of canoes along the waterfront inspired Torontonians and spread the joy of camp across the city!

Thank you to the 154 Canoe Heads across 21 teams who embarked on this challenge in support of sending more children from low-income families to camp. Thank you to our sponsors, volunteers and donors who supported the success of this event and ultimately provided hundreds of meaningful camp experiences for Amici campers.

We are thrilled to keep the camp-tastic fun going with Canoe Heads for Kids 2024 coming up on May 25th! Register or donate today at www.canoeheadsforkids.com.
