Amino Partner Larry Li Made the 2023 Forbes Midas Seed List
The 2023 Forbes Midas Seed List, a prestigious list of the world’s best seed round venture capital investors, was unveiled on May 4, 2023. Amino Founding & Managing Partner Larry Li made the list and was among the Top 10.
In the Greek mythology, Midas was a king who could turn anything he touched into gold. The Midas List is named after him to recognize the investors who have unique investment visions and senses and have achieved impressive results. Thus the list is also called the Golden Touch List.
After 2022, Forbes unveiled the 2nd Midas Seed List this year. A qualified nominee should have portfolio companies that have gone public or been acquired for at least $50 million, or have a valuation that is no less than $100 million and holding a valuation that has tripled since the investor’s first investment. Therefore, as a data-driven list compiled from a combination of public data sources and company submissions, Midas Seed only considers true seed round venture capital investors to be shortlisted.
Larry Li has made it to Forbes’ Midas Seed List of the world’s best seed round venture capital investors for the first time, placing Top 10 this year. Chime, the startup that Larry led Amino to invest in its seed round in 2013, is now valued at over $27 billion. Its valuation has grown thousands of times since its inception. Chime has become the most valuable U.S. consumer fintech unicorn.
As the Founding and Managing Partner at Amino, Larry has invested in and consulted over 200 startups in the US, China, Israel, Europe and Southeast Asia with an investment theme of data moat and network effect. In addition to Chime, over 200 fast-growing startups in which he has invested include Webflow, Rippling, Grail (acquired by Illumina), Weee, Replit, Turing, Dfinity, OmiseGo, Oasis Labs, Wetravel, AIFI.io, Wyze, Avail MedSystems and Beacons.ai.
