Problem Statement

Automate logging of Events data to a spreadsheet.

Tools

  • Google Sheets
  • Google Calendar
  • Zapier

Solution

Trigger from Google Calendar and Action in Google Sheets
New or Updated Event Trigger (Google Calendar) and Create Spreadsheet Row(s) Action (Google Sheets)

Steps

  • Connect your Google Calendar and Google Sheets account in Zapier.
  • Create a Google Sheets documents with column headers you want to capture.
  • Create the ZAP and map all the fields you want to capture.

Caution

  • Watch out for duplicate rows being created for events that are updated.
  • Pick only the most recent entries (you can create timestamps using {{zap_meta_human_now}}).
  • Summarize the event details in a separate tab of the Google Sheets document using QUERY().
