You should make the most of the day, REALLY?
This morning I was in bed and before completely waking up I had a bunch of interesting thoughts like “It seems sunny outside, I should get up and make the most of the day!” “I should take advantage of this day and go outside”. What I found fascinating is that a second after having these thoughts another thought popped up into my mind: “can you really make the most of a day, take advantage of day, what is a day anyway? it’s all made up!”
Reflecting on this I realised there is nothing to take advantage or make the most of, and definitely there is NOTHING I should do, have, be or feel.
So… what then? I spend the whole day in bed? Well, not unless that is what I am inspired to do in that moment. How it looks to me right now is that my inspiration does not come from the sunny day nor does it come from the comfy bed, it comes from inside me. I could be inspired to clean the house or to climb a mountain, no activity is more or less worthy than the other and none of them implies I am making the most of the day.
How do you see this? How do you know when you are following inspiration or doing things just because you should?
