AMO Labs is proud to announce that AutoCrypt has signed a contract with one of the largest automobile companies in Korea to bring you AutoCrypt V2D. We have since delivered a security solution that connects vehicles and smartphones in new and, until now,
inconceivable ways :)

This has always been a cool technology, but it used to be limited to certain mobile phones that are pre-registered with certain vehicles. For example, Tom’s car was only able to start with Tom’s cell phone. However, in the security environment supported by AutoCrypt V2D, you can transfer the key to open your car for a limited time like 24 hours. Tom can decide to send the digital key to Mia’s cellphone and give her temporary access. Let’s take a look at the pictures :)

What’s great about this?

1. You can easily lend your car.
2. 2. If you need to move your car for some reason, you no longer have to do it yourself.

3. It is possible to go beyond substitute driving and let substitute drivers bring the car to you … wherever you are :)

The security solution provided by AutoCrypt V2D does way more than just lending keys though. You can not only set the duration but which parts of the car can be accessed as well. Users might be able to open the trunk but for 10 minutes only (good for storing something by a courier^^). You may also block users from opening the glove compartment entirely when they rent your car for 7 days.

As per business agreement, AutoCrypt V2D is initially set to apply to the Australian automotive market. We are also actively discussing the entry into the Japanese market with the same agreement.
