Last Testnet-200306

We’re preparing to launch the mainnet around the end of March. The exact D-day would be announced via various channels before the launch. To prepare and test the mainnet, we will release amod v1.5.0 and launch a new testnet with the following added features:

• Unified binary for tendermint and AMO abci app
• On-line upgrade of blockchain protocol

We unified the tendermint and AMO abci app in order to ease the binary substitution upon on-line protocol upgrade. The upgrade of the blockchain protocol would be decided via governance mechanism added in the previous amod v1.4.x release. The actual protocol upgrade is orchestrated by an external monitoring tool. This tool will be released soon after the v1.5 release.

This testnet is expected to be the last one until the mainnet. However, there need to be a testnet for the developers working on their business applications. This testnet is supposed to be launched just after the mainnet launch and will use the same protocol version as the mainnet.

AMO Labs에서는 3월 말 경에 메인넷 출시를 준비하고 있습니다. 정확한 출시일은 메인넷 런치 이전에 여러 채널을 통해 공지될 예정입니다. 이 메인넷을 준비하고 테스트하기 위해서 다음의 변경 사항을 포함하는 amod의 v1.5.0 release가 계획돼 있고 새로운 테스트넷도 실행될 예정입니다:

• tendermint와 AMO abci app을 통합한 하나의 바이너리
• 온라인 블록체인 프로토콜 업그레이드

Tendermint와 AMO abci app의 통합의 온라인 프로토콜 업그레이드 시점에 바이너리 교체를 수월하게 하기 위한 것입니다. 블록체인 프로토콜을 업그레이드 하기 위한 의사결정은 이전 amod v1.4.x 릴리즈에 포함됐던 거버넌스 메커니즘을 통해서 결정됩니다. 실제의 프로토콜 업그레이드는 별도의 외부 모니터링 도구에 의해서 관장하게 됩니다. 이 도구는 v1.5 릴리즈 직후에 공개될 예정입니다.

이 테스트넷은 메인넷 이전 마지막 테스트넷으로 계획됐습니다. 하지만 각자의 비즈니스 응용프로그램을 만드는 개발자들을 위한 테스트넷 역시 필요합니다. 이 테스트넷은 메인넷 출시 이후에 실행될 예정이며 메인넷과 동일한 프로토콜 버전을 사용하게 될 것입니다.
