Who we are
We are a software development company revolutionising the world by building solutions that connect people to technology. Ampersand was formed unofficially in the year 2015, by four young entrepreneurs, brought together during their time of study at the Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology, in Accra Ghana.
We finally registered Ampersand as a company in Ghana, cofounded by 5 entrepreneurs in the year 2016. Heads up, we are not your typical software application developers, we are Ampersand. A company made up of people who aspire to change the world in their own small way regardless of their circumstances bringing together a powerful combination of individual uniqueness using technology. For every product we have built in the past we apply a combination of design thinking, business acumen and use a SCRUM approach for our software development. Our pride and joy is in you giving us a problem or idea and we giving you a well thought solution built into a product.

Team Ampersand is uniquely knitted with 5 individuals making the core team led by Lady-Omega Hammond. As CEO of Ampersand she basically runs the show, getting leads and turning them into clients, making money off products so salaries and bills are paid and most importantly building a culture that will grows and promotes Ampersand.
Affectionately known as “Lady-O”, she completed Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) with a degree in Geomatic Engineering.Her desire to building a company was merged with her love for computers after attending MEST. Excellent with her communication and business skills, we are proud to say Lady-Omega is one of the astounding female tech entrepreneurs of our generation. She loves to sing, cook and dance in her spare time. She inspires more young ladies through her work at @Stembees Organization and YWCA, Ghana. CTO
No great technology company did not have a kick-ass Chief Technology Officer, Andrew Barnes. Affectionately called Drew, he spends his day-to-day on improving our development infrastructure and designing our systems architecture, responsible for our technical vision and guiding our technical team along that path. He completed Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) with a degree in Electrical Engineering.He develops and trains younger programmers who join our team.
He doubles as our iOS developer and backend developer. His favorite programming languages are Swift, Python, Node JS (JavaScript) and Go. He started his entrepreneurial journey with Design Maniax (graphic designs company), zone233 (content on Ghana), Mall Riot (online shopping platform) and Code Busters (software development), all companies he started before attending MEST that groomed him specially for Ampersand. An introverted extrovert, a deep thinker and passionate about the teachings of God. He loves to eat cake, tilapia and banku. You can follow him on here to know more. CPO
We take pride in our products because we have a critical eye checking every detail of the products we build to the satisfaction of our clients. Meet Joel Armah, our Chief Product Officer. Joel is in charge of frontend development, design and Android Development. He completed Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) with a degree in Geological Engineering.
He has experience with languages such as Java, Javascript, Angular. His entrepreneurial journey began with Mall Riot connecting the dots of him and igniting the passion to start his own business. Training to be the next Grand Slam African star at the Wimbledon, Joel is a chef extraordinaire and likes to get creative with his hands. From cooking to building woodwork and fixing cars, he is a man of many talents. He loves to watch youtube vloggers like Chris Jones of (PumpChasers) and lives an active healthy lifestyle. CMO
Great products don’t sell by themselves but it takes a skilled and talented person to sell a message that sells the product using the best of ways. Godwin Abenbire is the Chief Marketing Manager of Ampersand. He is in charge of connecting Ampersand to the world out there.
His expertise as a certified Google Marketer, is in Social media marketing and graphic design. He is a die hard lover of digital content and doesn’t shy away from creating his own. Driven by his passion for technology, Abenbire enrolled at the Meltwater Entrepreneur School of Technology after his Real Estate Degree at KNUST. He took up the challenge to add web development to his sleeves, this came in handy in some of our projects aside his day to day job as Marketing Manager. When he is not being a nerd, Abenbire enjoys either playing golf, pencil art, table tennis, video games and food ;). You can follow him here.
Advisor
The very foundation of growing a company comes from having a vision and focusing on it. Our spectacular Advisor, Nana Owusu-Achau is in charge of business strategy of Ampersand. He completed Calvin College with a 1st Degree, in Business & Information Systems and 2nd Degree in Business Administration.
Having worked in investment and technology industries, he is the brainpower behind Kings Group of companies: Kings Realty (Real Estate Company), Kings Capital (Investment Company) & Kings Legacy (Football club). A fervent lover of God and people, he enjoys playing football in his leisure time, read and fellowship with believers. You can follow him here to know more.
