A rare Design Ops job opening

Royal Bank of Canada in Toronto (RBC) has a job opening for a Director of Design Ops. It is rare that one of these pass my stream so I’m sending it out to folks here not just as a favor for anyone who might be looking, but also b/c I think the job description highlights well the role. We can also use it as a discussion point for more broadly helping to define these roles in our scaling organizations.

One criticism I would make of the role is that it is too focused on just the design team itself. It needs to also include and have a mandate to work across disciplines such as engineering and product/offering management to help forge the workflow between those orgs and design.
