Tessa Wernink breathes and talks the Fairphone story, we love her energy and excitement so we invited here to share her story on stage!

She is a brand builder and communications specialist with a keen eye for commercial partnerships, one to be proud on to have in our Amsterdam community!

Wernink and her team have been the driving force behind the transparant storytelling approach and corporate strategy that have built the globally recognised Fairphone brand and community.

She has excelled at building a business model and international community of individuals and businesses around an ethical, purpose-driven brand. She is hands-on and creative and loves working in multi-stakeholder projects and with international teams.

Technology is heralded to bring positive and disruptive change, connecting and empowering people.

Fairphone sees the smartphone — that pocket super computer you’ve become so depended of — as a symbol of our economic system. It connects us to the entire world, but we have lost connection with the stories and people behind the products we use and own.

By designing a smartphone by putting people and the environment first, Fairphone wants to make step-by-step change in the design, mining, production and use and re-use of our technology and work toward a more values-based economy, making technology a force for good for everyone.

Social impact is to close our hard, and technology makes this impact exponential. Tessa will talk optimistically about a brighter future; this way our children, businesses, and governments everywhere can learn and thrive from a positive mark on the world. She sees more value in social good, those ventures that fix the world and make money.
